Summer = Family Reunions

Does it ever feel like summer turns into one big family reunion? We have been to a few already and have a few more to hit. I seriously have the best family--on my side and Jimmy's. My dad's side of the family had a campout the last weekend in June, then Jimmy's mom's family had a campout this last weekend. Camping has become much more difficult now that we have 2 kids. My parents were so nice to let us borrow their camper this weekend, and that made the trip a much more enjoyable experience. I can't even imagine camping for 3 days in a tent! Carter and Elly were both pretty good campers. Carter LOVES being outside, free to play in the dirt and explore. A week ago we decided to just bite the bullet and say "no more diapers" for him. It has been going much better than expected. I thought it would be hard potty training while we were camping, but it was actually easier than at home. We even dared take him to church yesterday without a diaper, and (drumroll please...) NO accidents yesterday! Hooray for Carter!

When we got ready to leave the reunion, I told Carter to go get in his car seat. He had been packing this puppy around the whole reunion, and was pretty sure he was going to take it home with him. (Notice how dirty his face is :)

Yay for big boy undies! (:

This is my FAVORITE pic--Elly has started sticking her tongue out at everyone..so CUTE! I think she looks so much like her daddy.

Handsome boy ready for church

My dolly

I know, my kids are the cutest! (:

Carter LoVeD the fireworks this year. He was more fun to watch than the fireworks!

4th of July BBQ at our neighbor's

Soakin' in our backyard--Elly loves it.

The baby pack: Greatest invention ever

She looks ADORABLE in this little polka-dot swimsuit. Elly and Uncle Matt chillin' in the pool at my mom's house.

She is such a DADDY'S GIRL!

I wish she was a mommy's girl, but unless she's hungry, she prefers her dad!

Elly loves playing with Carter--this is in his little pop-up tent.

This picture was taken by my 3-year-old nephew, Max. He loves taking pictures, and does a pretty good job. This is me, Elly, and my little cousin, Emily.

Elly getting some "grandma loves."

It sounds like your summer is going great! I wish we've gone camping! Does the cabin count?! Your kids are so cute & the pool looks so nice right now! I thought you worked Mondays. Has that changed?

You do have the cutest kids. It looks like Carter is such a good big brother. Reunions are so much fun, but there really are a lot of them.

Ya, that is a lot of pics to upload! The one of the 2 in their church clothes makes me laugh because Carter is giving this sweet smile & Elle is looking like "why are you taking my picture?!" haha :) I don't know why, but I totally forgot about the lake! We just planned the rest of our summer last night. I guess we may be switching some things around. It looks like the only slight possibilities would be August 1st or 29th. Does either one of those work?

I love all the pictures. I agree that camping with kids is a challenge(especially bedtime). Thanks for the nice comment on my blog. I really am lucky to have such a great mother in law. Especially since we are there every weekend.

Looks like you have had a WAY fun summer. Your kids are DARLING! I hope we both visit the Bennington ward the same week sometime soon. Maybe someday we will live in the same city. I have so many fun memories of four wheeler rides, candy bar games, sleeping on the tramp, and etc. It would be fun to get SULUKALEANN together again.
