Elizabeth Ann is finally here!

We are so excited to finally have our sweet little baby girl! I was induced just after midnight on the 18th. Everything seemed to be going perfectly. I was dilating and having regular contractions all night. At 9:00 in the morning I got an epidural (I wasn't about to wait until it was too late this time!) Then the nurse checked me and said, "Uh oh, I think I just felt her foot." That is so typical of this pregnancy-- After 4 weeks of being head down, this little girl decided to flip around and be breach at the last minute. The doctor came in and sure enough, we had to do a c-section. I was so scared! Just the thought of being cut open, especially while you are awake was enough to make me throw up, and I did. Elly (that is what we are going to call her) was born at 12:34 in the afternoon on the 18th. It was pretty scary at first, because after she was born she only took one breath, then stopped breathing and wouldn't cry. The doctor hurried her out of the operating room before I even got to see her, and Jimmy followed. I was getting sewn up and in recovery for the next hour and had no idea how my baby was doing! Finally, my doctor came and told me that everything was fine. She had a mucous plug obstructing her breathing, but as soon as they got it out she started breathing fine and is just perfect. She weighed 5 lbs 5 oz and is 18 1/2 inches long. She has lots of dark hair and reminds me so much of how Carter looked as a baby. We stayed in the hospital for 2 days and came home this afternoon. She only weighs 4 lbs 15 oz today so we are trying to pump the calories into this tiny girl. She is just beautiful and we are so thankful she is here and everyone is safe and sound.
